RED are pleased to have secured 2 projects this weeks – confirming MECD Oldfellows Hall for Balfour Beatty and Blocks C, K & N at Upton Park for Barratt London.

MECD (Manchester Engineering Campus Development) is a part of £400 million masterplan being delivered by Balfour Beatty providing a world class research facility for The University of Manchester. RED’s works will be to the Oddfellows Hall facility, which links part of the old facility with the new. Of critical importance to our works were meeting the scope and outline concept to conform to the requirements set out by the MCC conservation department.

RED will be providing our specialist glazing services to provide a bespoke rooflight over a conference breakout space which will greatly improve the environment of the facility taking into consideration enhancements to the thermal performance and light transmission.

On another note, we were delighted to also finalise the order for Upton Park C, K & N for Barratt London. This phase of works will be our biggest to date on the Upton Park development and will be ongoing for most of 2020 with a small element spreading into 2021. The design to CKN is slightly different to the previous 4 phases RED have undertaken, so will add architectural interest to the overall development – we can’t wait to see the finished results.
